RBB collaborated with SRG Partnership for the design and construction of the $36 million Engineering Building Unit 2 (EBU2). The EBU2 provides state of the art research and teaching space for the Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering departments. The new 152,000 GSF building forms a gateway to the Engineering Precinct. The program has been divided into two categories: Research and Discovery, and Teaching and Learning. Teaching and Learning spaces are planned for the first and second floors and align directly with the existing Bourns Hall. This relationship provides a natural continuation of undergraduate activities. Research and Discovery space is designed into office and lab clusters on the third through fifth floors.
