The Environmental Research Building (ERB) at Boise State University houses five floors of laboratory, classroom and office space for geosciences and civil engineering; as well as integrated areas for Public Policy Administration, and Political Science. The building layout promotes collaboration between scientists, engineers, researchers and faculty on environmental issues.
The new facility was intensively energy modeled, and targets energy savings in the range of 35% better than standard. Energy saving design strategies are incorporated in the HVAC system, wall and roof insulation, windows, and building envelope.
