517,000 square feet to accommodate 364 beds, including 66
intensive care beds, 22 security beds, and clinic space for up
to 1,000 outpatient visits per day.
Triangular patient wings are
organized around a rectangular spine which contains
outpatient and inpatient services and connects to a
diamond shaped ancillary services wing housing the
emergency, radiology, surgery, labor/delivery and central
sterile departments.
Landscaped
courtyards are visible from all four floors and basement,
creating a pleasant ambiance and outdoor connections
throughout the building.
A two-story mall
on the first floor provides waiting areas and access to
diagnostic services and the pharmacy. It adjoins the
outpatient clinic waiting rooms. A landscaped courtyard
forms an attractive centerpiece for these major waiting
areas.
